FACTORS INFLUENCING THE CHOICE OF AN ORGANISATION'S MANAGEMENT STRUCTURE

Abstract

The article, based on the scientific developments of scholars and the current regulatory framework, distinguishes between the concepts of «organisational structure», «management structure», and «organisational management structure». It is determined that the concepts of «organisational management structure» and «organisational management structure» are identical. The organisational structure of an enterprise is a set of production and functional structural units. The management structure of an enterprise is the composition of management bodies and employees, as well as the system of their subordination and interaction in the process of production management. The main objective of the study was to examine the organisational structures of agricultural enterprises in the context of theoretical aspects of their construction and, in particular, to study the factors that influence the choice of structure. The factors influencing the choice of management structure by an organisation in management theory are conditionally divided into internal, general or external and special ones. The authors propose to interpret them as internal characteristics of the organisational system (complexity, formalisation, centralisation of the organisation and control norms), external conditions of functioning (external environment, strategy and size of the organisation, technology of work) and special characteristics of the organisational system (effect of power and control, digitalisation of business processes). The author proposes to add the category of «organisational culture» to the special factors influencing the choice of management structure. However, to date, the issue of studying organisational culture, although promising and in the field of theoretical and practical research by scholars, requires further integration with practice.
